"The relationship between a viewer and a painting, or an audience and a performance, is a very simple and primitive engagement that has always existed and always will.”

- Scott Avett, from “My Search for Truth,” Muse & Spirit, Winter 2010

An Evening with Scott Avett

Friends and supporters of The Educational Center are invited to an art exhibition and conversation with artist Scott Avett on Friday, February 24, 2012.

Concord native Scott Avett is well known for his award-winning music career with The Avett Brothers, but he is also an accomplished fine artist.  This event, a fundraiser for The Educational Center, will provide guests with an intimate opportunity to view his striking figurative paintings and hear him talk about his spiritual journey.

The Educational Center, a nonprofit organization based in Charlotte NC, creates resources and opportunities for people of all ages and faith backgrounds who seek spiritual growth and enrichment.  We celebrate the opportunity to discuss, in community, how faith fuels artistic expression and functions as a conduit for truth.

Fundraiser Tickets

Due to space constraints and our vision for an intimate gathering, a very limited number of tickets will be available to friends of The Educational Center in advance of the event.  Others interested in attending may add their name to a waitlist here to be notified should any additional tickets become available.

Public Art Exhibition

The community is invited to join us for a public exhibition of Scott Avett's artwork on Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. 532 Governor Morrison Street, Charlotte. Free Admission. Original works and commemorative posters will be available for sale.
